Depressed, Lonely, Down in the Dumps? The 3 Strategies that have turned my life around

Sometimes I get into a funk so deep its too hard to even fake a smile. Usually, it's triggered after a string of disappointments,  mistakes I've made, or after I've invested emotionally in relationships I shouldn't have.  I hate feeling this way, even temporarily, more so since I struggled with depression since the age of 18.  Back then, I opted to avoid medications, of course, but I had no tools to cope for many years.

At times I was dysfunctional, doing the bare minimum for 3 days straight, sleeping for most of the day. When it would happen, the situation felt out of control.

Who wants to feel depressed, not in control of their feelings?

I didn't. Seeing other people walking around miserable, inflicting their pain on others by being absolutely difficult and rude, also filled me with dread of becoming like them.

I didn't want to become perpetually miserable.

With time, I learned various strategies, which really helped, but it's only over the last few years, that I've made serious headway.

I want to be happy all the time.

That desire alone is incredibly powerful, because we tend to receive/achieve the legitimate desires of our hearts.

And even more importantly, the more I developed the desire for real happiness, and a dislike for depression/misery, the more I tried to figure out how to reach it my goal.

I discovered that happiness is within our reach- every minute of every day, no matter what. It's amazing.

But for me, achieving true happiness, means ascending beyond myself, tapping into my purpose here in this world, and most of all giving to others."

Only the money we give away is truly ours" (Kli Yakar- Jewish philosopher)

My Anti-Anxiety/Depression Routine

Iv'e learned that for me, different emotional states call for different approaches:

Mild sadness/ anxiety:

I go for a walk in nature and take the time to look at the trees, the flowers, the sky and appreciate their beauty. This is very grounding and gets me out of my head. I make sure to eat well, including preparing a hot meal every day- good nutrition and self care is critical.

Medium depression/anxiety:

I attend dance class (so fun), I'll listen to live music (live instruments especially guitar is very uplifting), go to a group/community event (socializing in a positive environment is a great depression cure). I talk to supportive people (mostly close family or go for a nice deep chat with a close friend).

In my medium state, I take Calm & Tranquil herbal formula twice daily (more below). If I do this consistently I don't usually fall into major depression. But, If I fall of the bandwagon or something extreme happens keep reading below.

Major Depression:

One of the absolute best cures for deep depression is giving to others. Giving money is good, super powerful, but even better is sharing of our inner selves with others.  Give what is unique to each person to give, and this is connected to our true purpose. This might require a little self discovery.

If you're unsure where to start, start small, spend time with that friend/relative who needs some support. Volunteer at a shelter or old age home. Share your knowledge/experiences with others.  Charity. All of us, at any given time, can give to another person. Putting a smile on someone else's face is the greatest feeling. Sometimes, i'll even picture a person in my mind (whether real or theoretical) who needs me and that motivates me to start giving.

And throughout it all I take Calm & Tranquil- it's a potent herbal formula specifically formulated for mood and brain support. Works best when taken consistently (at least 3-4 days per week). For men and women.  Click here to learn more

For women only: if your emotional state is connected to hormones or thyroid try our Balance Herbal Formula as well- an herbal formula for hormone support.
